Athlete Alliance is the locker room for athletes, coaches, and parents. This page says what we collect, who can see it, and how to delete it. If you use the app, this policy applies to you.

Who we are

Athlete Alliance is operated by Sterling Sheffield in Delaware, United States. For privacy requests, email privacy@athletesalliance.net.

Who can join

The app is for people 14 and older. We do not want accounts for children under 14. If you believe a child under 14 has an account, email us and we will delete it.

Information we collect

  • Account: your name, email, and password. The password is stored in a form we cannot read back.
  • Sign-in with Google or X: the name and email those services share with us so we can open your account.
  • Profile: handle, headline, bio, sport, level, school or team, state, and age, if you choose to save them.
  • What you do in the app: posts, comments, likes, follows, and short takes.
  • Messages: direct messages, team-room messages, and which rooms you join.
  • Safety: reports you submit, and vault applications you send, including the goal and topics you write.
  • Points: your point balance, lifetime total, and streak.
  • Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and the basic log data the host records when you load the app.

We do not ask for a phone number, a precise GPS location, or a payment card inside the app.

How we use it

  • To create your account and keep you signed in.
  • To show your profile, posts, and rooms to the people allowed to see them.
  • To deliver messages to the people in that conversation or room.
  • To mark an account as under 18 when you save an age under 18, so the safer defaults can apply.
  • To review reports, new under-18 accounts, and vault applications.
  • To keep the service secure and fix failures.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your messages or your age to target ads. We do not show ads.

What other people can see

Your email is not shown on your profile. Your age, sport, school, and state are shown only if you save them on your profile. Posts and comments are visible to signed-in members. A private team room is visible to people who have that room’s link and joined it.

Direct messages are visible to the people in the thread. Room messages are visible to members of that room. Messages travel over an encrypted connection. They are not end-to-end encrypted. The people in the conversation can read them.

Athletes under 18

If you save an age under 18, your account is marked as a teen account. Teen accounts are meant to stay private, and adults are not supposed to message a teen unless that teen follows them first. Email and birthday are not published on the profile.

A parent does not get a copy of a teen’s messages. There is no working parent-view of private posts in the app today.

Moderation

The founder account can see reports, accounts that saved an age under 18, and vault applications. That review is for safety. It is not a public feed. If a message or post is included in a report, the founder can read what was reported.

Companies that process this for us

  • The host that serves the app.
  • The database that stores accounts, posts, messages, and rooms.
  • Google or X, only if you choose those buttons to sign in.

They process this information so the app can run. They are not allowed to use it for their own advertising.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep account information, posts, messages, and points for as long as the account is open. If you ask us to delete the account, we delete the profile, posts, comments, messages, room membership, and points tied to it. We may keep a safety report, or a record the law requires us to keep, after the account is gone.

Deleting your account and your rights

Email privacy@athletesalliance.net from the address on the account. Ask to access, correct, or delete your information. We will delete the account after we confirm the request is yours.

If you live in California, you can ask us to tell you what we collected, to delete it, and to confirm we do not sell or share it. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

Schools and teams

When a coach sends a room link, each athlete creates their own account. We do not take a spreadsheet of minors from a school under this policy. A school that wants a signed data agreement needs a separate addendum before any roster is sent to us.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. The new version applies from that date. If you keep using the app after that, you are agreeing to the updated policy.
